Hello Everyone, this is Ben Parker,
Management Consultant, Chemist, Entrepreneur, Creator, Co-Founder and Member of the Durable Capital Group. I have spent the last 10 years managing teams and physical assets in the specialty chemical industry and I also had the privilege of working on the operations side of the Utility Scale Solar industry as well. I live at the intersection of Finance, Operations, Process, and Engineering where a lot of magic happens. Where I believe that organizations have tremendous opportunity to create sustainable long-term value. I am so glad to be here with you as we are about to launch the brand-new Durability Podcast.
This Podcast will be dedicated, as the name suggests... to the process of becoming Durable.
Today more than ever, organizations need to take a harder look at how well they manage their physical assets. Their plants, property, equipment and other critical infrastructure.
It’s times like this, that really expose the underlying weaknesses in many organizations. They begin to feel just how much past assumptions, practices, and decisions, have led to unanticipated risk exposure, unnecessary loss in value, which have severely limit their options.
So, WHY focus on the Durability?
Because, even though organizations will never be able to remove all risk and uncertainty, they can positively impact their own future by the way they prepare it.
Without realizing it, many organizations, consistently accept higher long-term risk and a lower overall value. Organizations that relentlessly focus on preventative actions and proactive contingencies seem to build more durability and enjoy a huge cumulative impact over time.

This Podcast is meant to be easily digestible we will try to keep them short between 5 to 30 minutes and easily applicable. We will share and discuss actionable strategies as well as tips and tactics from all sorts of capital-intensive industries that you can draw wisdom from for your own work.
In future episodes you will learn more about WHY this is so important to me. I will share with you how my love for the fundamentals of Chemistry and the scientific method has led me deep into the fundamentals of investment and capital asset management and why I keep my foot in both worlds.
My goal is to keep things lively and entertaining. I promise to do my very best not to be boring. So, I will sharing lots of exciting examples and valuable insights, in the hope that you can have a critical impact in your organization, as you lead your teams, and make critical asset management decisions.
